Open Class: Relax Restore Stillness

Practice-based class focusing on Rest and Silence. Experience the art of Relaxation, shifting from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance over this 2 hour class. To heal, to grow, to renew, to restore, to reset for harmony and health.

The body and mind already know how to heal and rejuvenate, we only need to offer time, space and ❤️. This is a process of supporting and allowing, minus the intention of doing and acting.

This is a rare opportunity to practice with Adelene Cheong. She believes that Relaxation is a skill that can be learned and refined. In this class, Adelene will guide you through the process of Relaxation, to transition from the moment you arrive on your mat to the moment you leave the room. Great way to move into your weekend.

Yoga for Back Care: Spinal Resilience

The focus of this workshop is on understanding spinal health through integrated movement, developing spinal resilience for longevity. The methodology will be both educational and experiential to enhance the practitioner’s embodiment of the subject.
The spinal column is the central axis of the body, and when aligned with integrity allows the entire physical system to move with ease, stability and poise. This is the centrepiece of our physical structure, the casing for our central nervous system, the scaffolding of our central body, the cohabiting neighbour to our vital organs. We will explore the anatomy and kinesiology of the spine, learn how to practice yoga asana with maximum congruency, therefore less strain or inefficiency of the back. There will be discussion and practice on the sacro-iliac joint and how to both prevent and alleviate discomfort in the lower back and pelvis.
• Anatomical congruency of the spine
• Organ system support
• Sequential flow through the skeletal system
• Somatic inquiry-based practice
Suitable for dedicated students, teachers and those working with spinal conditions. Not appropriate for pregnant or acute spinal conditions.
