new to yoga

Don’t think too long: just start today!

Yoga is 99% practice and 1% theory. Don’t worry if you cannot touch your toes! You don’t have to be flexible to start yoga. After 2 or 3 classes, you will become familiar with the shapes and movements.

Respect your body, start slowly, and move carefully. Breaks are always allowed, especially if your breathing dramatically changes or you begin to feel uncomfortable.

Do not eat 2 hours before and 30 minutes after class. Come to class hydrated and be sure to drink water after class. We recommend drinking little or nothing during the yoga class itself.

Put on clean, comfortable clothing that makes you feel good - you do not need a fancy yoga outfit - and leave your socks behind as yoga is practiced barefoot.
